Question:

We have a 2020 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500, 2021.5 Pleasure Way Ascent van. We recently purchased a large Owl van metal box and a 1-up 2-bike swing-away carrier with tray . We have used the bike carrier only once because we found it too difficult to lift the e-bikes 5 ft off the ground and then into the tray. This would be a fine step for a younger person, but not us 60-year old types. So, we are in the market for a new bike carrier. The Owl van box is 20.5 inches from the rear door. We need a 2inch hitch and would like the bike carrier to swing to the drivers side. The e-bikes weigh 40 pounds each. We need a 2-bike carrier. We have looked at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 e-bikes and the Swagman bike rack foe 2-e-bikes. The hitch we have viewed is the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing-Away hitch extender. We would like to be able to easily transfer the bike carrier to our 2021 Honda CRV . Thank you for your recommendation. Please disregard photo with motocycle.

For a pivoting hitch bike rack solution that would clear your rear box you'd want the Kuat Pivot Adapter part # PVD20B that you referenced with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider part # HLY64FR. This pivots to the driver side like you are wanting and can easily transfer to your CR-V as well.
