I read in an expert reply to a question concerning the difference between Y8890176 and Y8890129 that the expert contacted Yakima and they stated that the two bolts are the same and both will work with an older Yakima Holdup bike rack gray, although he recommends the Y8890176. Will the Y8890176 also work with the newer black Yakima Holdup bike rack?

Yes, the Replacement Mounting Hardware for Yakima # Y8890176 will work with your newer black style Yakima HoldUp as long as it is the 1-1/4" shank. If you have the 2" shank version then you would need the Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip for Yakima # Y8890200.
