How Does Thule Lid Lifter Remove From Cargo Box to Install New One

Question:
I need to replace one lid lifter on my Thule cargo carrier. The old lifter is loose at one end but still attached at both ends. What tool or method do I use to remove the old lifter from the ball sockets? Thanks, DGM

Removing the old lid lift to install the new one part # TH14936 really is just a matter of pulling and prying old one off to then press on the new one.
