I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 for your Trek Verve+2 e-bike. This bike rack will fit in 1-1/4" and 2" receivers allowing you to carry 2 bikes that weigh up to 65lbs each. It also includes a folding ramp that will allow you to push the bike onto the carrier rather than having to lift the 52lb bike. The carrier holds the bike in place with frame clamps and wheel straps that fit tires up to 3" wide. Locks are built into the clamp handles so there is no need for extra cables to secure the bikes or carrier to your vehicle.

Thule does offer an Extra-Long Loading Ramp # TH933402 that is 53" long if you have a taller vehicle as the included ramp is only 36" long.
