Tow Package Wiring Location-2020 Chevy Equinox

Question:

Regarding the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite controller, where would you recommend that the knob be located in a 2020 Chevy Equinox with factory Tow package. I dont see many viable locations. Also, I need assistance locating the Tow Pkg wiring the controller would hook into dont see it behind the center console by the gas pedal.

According to Redarc, the tow package wiring is located behind the side cover of the center console, either on the driver or passenger side. Keep in mind, the tow package wiring will only be there is the vehicle is equipped with the factory tow package that includes the 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper.

If you don't have the tow package, you'll need to hardwire the controller using our # ETBC7 install kit. You'll also need a functional 4 pole trailer connector such as what's provided by part # 118750 for all models EXCEPT for the Premier. If you have the Premier, use # 118759

As far as the placement of the control knob for the # RED52VR Tow-Pro Liberty goes, an unused switch knockout is the best mounting spot, but if one isn't available, the knob can be located anywhere as long as it's within easy reach of the driver. You'll need to drill a 3/8 and a 1/8 inch diameter hole to mount the knob, either in the dash or the center console as mentioned in the linked installation instructions. A mounting bezel like # 331-TPSI-001 will dress up the installation, providing a factory install appearance.
