Today, we're going to be taking a look at the PTC line of custom fit cabin air filters. Make sure to see etrailer.com's fit guide for your specific application. So, here we have our old filter and our new one. Now, yours may look a little bit different just because of your application, but all of our filters are going to do the same thing and work the same way. Our filter's designed to filter out any particulates in the air, and as you can see, it's doing a pretty good job. It's actually turning the filter brown, getting those really small particles. However, it's also getting larger particles like these bits of leaves and other debris in there, which those actually could damage our climate control system if it gets too far in.A lot of times when we're driving our car, we're not thinking about maintaining it.
A lot of people will remember, okay, I need to change my oil. I need to fill up with fuel, but filters usually are not the first thing you think about. Every car is going to have an engine air filter to clean the air going in, but a lot of times people don't think about the air inside the car. And that can actually be up to six times dirtier than outside. But our cabin air filters are going to filter out up to 90% of the particles, gasses, and bacteria that can affect our health.
It's going to make it a lot easier for us to breathe, but at the same time, it's going to protect our vehicle's climate system. That way we won't have any potential back pressure on our AC or our heating system, which can potentially cause damage down the road. Now, when it comes to cabin air filters, we're going to have two different styles. We'll have the one here, which is going to be a white media particulate filter. It's going to filter out dust, air particles, soot, and field grain really well. The other one's going to be a charcoal filter.
Now, it's going to have all the same benefits as the white particulate filter, except it's going to be a lot better at filtering out smoke, odors, exhaust fumes, and things like that. And those are going to be really good for people that have allergies or any other kind of breathing issues. We're going to have three typical spots that most cabin air filters are going to be. They're either going to be behind the glove box, underneath the lower dash, or possibly under the hood. That'll finish up your look at the PTC line of custom cabin air filters.
Ratings & Reviews
As far as i can tell works great, thank you for the reminder
It appears to be fine
Fits perfectly in the gen4 Toyota Highlander. It seems to be a little more study than the OEM filter it replaced. Hopefully the air flow is the same. The air flow for this vehicle is from top to bottom. The PTC filter has arrows to indicate the air flow direction. So when you insert it in the holder the arrows should point down. The reason I mention this is that the OEM filter has an orientation arrow pointing up. This is not the air flow direction and meant to match up with the arrow on the plastic holder.
Basic air filter. It fits my RAV4 perfectly. I’m happy enough.
Direct fast and complete quantity-
Thank you!
Exactly what I expected. Fast delivery
excellent price and very clean smelling after installed.
The videos are most helpful and motivated me to make the purchase
I like it has carbon filter to better screen out outside impurities. It was more stiff than the original cabin filter making it harder to insert.
it fit perfect
This was my first time changing the filter and the video was excellent - installed in no time with no problems.
While the Filter seems acceptable, the [online] video etrailer has on-line showing how to DIY install/replace and access the filter is incomplete and a bad source of how to do it. In it, the information on a simple procedure like removing the glove box to get at the filter housing completely neglects to tell an Acadia owner it is necessary to easily disconnect the left-side of the glove box from the swivel restraint which takes two seconds. That earned the one star review and caused me to finally source other, complete and accurate [online] videos on how to do it.
