Question:

I need to purchase a Reese sidewinder but didnt know if I needed other accessories including wedge or side plates. My current pin box is a Curt/Lippert 1716 which I will be trading out for the Reese 68220. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

The Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret # RP77FR is the correct replacement for a Lippert 1716 bolt pattern pin box.

As for the compatibility of the # RP77FR with your Pullrite SuperGlide, this is not a compatible match due to the SuperGlide automatic sliding feature and because it uses capture plates that aren't compatible with the Sidewinder instead of a wedge kit.

Instead I recommend the Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16046 since your 2021 Ram 3500 has the OEM Prep Package. You'll also need the Sidewinder Wedge for Curt A Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # C16992 to lock the king pin of the Sidewinder in the jaws of the hitch.

If you don't already have an in-bed 7-way connection I also recommend installing the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector # C56070. This is going to plug in-line with your factory 7-way for a fast and easy hookup for your 5th wheel.
