Question:
I would like to hook up two 100# propane tanks to run a 30,000 btu fireplace . Do I need two regulators and what kind...single stage or double?

Expert Reply:
A two-stage regulator will provide a much steadier flow than a single stage as well as offer you the ability to adjust the pressure.
To connect both of your 100lb propane tanks to a regulator like the Compact Low Pressure 2-Stage Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-31525 you would need two POL to 1/4" MIF hoses like the # 100019-60. You would also need a hose with a 3/8" MPT fitting to attach to the outlet of the regulator with what type of fitting on the other end that will connect to your fireplace.
I do want to note that these products are all designed for RV use only and would not be recommended if the tanks and fireplace were for residential use.
