Question:

I have Roadmaster base plates that bought from etrailer but was given a rather new tow bar, I want to use this because it is better than the one I've been using. What do I need to do to make the base plates work with this Demco commander? It looks like it is your dm9511012-bx.

I looked up to see what base plates you have on your 2017 Mini Cooper. You have the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-521884-5. To use your Demco Commander II Non-Binding Tow Bar, # DM9511012-BX all you need to do is swap out the removable arms on your base plates with the Universal Tow Bar Adapter for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Baseplates, # RM62ZR.

Swapping out the arms with these will actually allow you to use a Blue Ox, or Curt tow bar as well.
