Hello, is the load capacity only while in motion or does that include while the vehicle is stationary, like at a campsite. Im looking for a ladder rack that will support 1000 pounds on a Ford Ranger, but is level with the rooftop.

I do have a ladder rack that will work for this application. My recommendation is the T-Rac Pro2 Truck Bed Ladder Rack for Compact Pickups - Fixed Mount - 1,000 lbs, part # TH37001XT. It has a dynamic weight limit of 1,000 lbs. You will have to check with Ford to see if your truck's rails can support this weight.

The weight limit of the Thule Xsporter Pro Mid Overland Truck Bed Rack - Aluminum - 600 lbs, part # TH34RR, is a dynamic weight limit. This means while your vehicle is in motion. Most people who are interested in static weight limits want to carry a rooftop tent. Thule does not have a static weight limit for any of their ladder racks, but it is more than the dynamic limit. Unfortunately, I do not know how much more it would be.

Your best bet for a ladder rack that is level with the roof of your 2021 Ford Ranger is something like the Thule Xsporter Pro Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 450 lbs - Black, part # TH500XTB. It is an adjustable ladder rack, but this will not have a 1,000 lbs static weight limit.
