Question:

Hi. I need to get a hitch and wiring for my new 2022 Palisade. Preferably something hidden as I won't be using it all the time. When I am using it, it will be with the Reese cargo rack 63153. Possibly towing a trailer at some point down the road, but not at the moment. I like the 63153 since I can put the 98174LED light kit on it, so I want to make sure the hitch is compatible with it. For your 2022 Hyundai Palisade, I recommend going with the etrailer.com Class III Hitch # e95ZR. This American made hitch is a direct bolt on application that requires no drilling for the install and will have a mostly hidden look once completed (picture included). This will also be rated up to 5,000 pounds towing and 750 pounds of tongue weight, though you will need to check your owner's manual for the max capacities of your vehicle. With that said, you will have absolutely no problem using a cargo carrier with this hitch.

As you are looking to use the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 and the LED Light Kit # 98174LED, which I really like, you will indeed need some wiring. For this, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU94FR. This is a quick and easy plug and play application that will take little to no time to get installed.

As the Reese cargo carrier does not include a pin and clip though, you will need to grab one of these as well. I prefer a locking one and the stainless steel # e98882 is a very good option. The only other thing I recommend is an anti rattle device. For this, you really can't do any better than the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. It's a simple design, but it is also more effective than most other options on the market. Highly recommended.
