The Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box, # LC328330 is a replacement for the Lippert 1621 and 1621HD pin boxes and has a rotating turret design. This, and other pivoting type pin boxes, are not to be used with slide type hitches but can be used with fixed hitches such as the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C16115. This hitch can be mounted in to the 6-1/2 foot bed of your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, without OEM prep package, using the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC, # C16411-204.

Do not use the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider, # C16521 that is typically recommended for short bed trucks.

For short bed trucks, you either use a slide type hitch and a fixed position pin box to gain your needed clearance between the RV and cab of truck in tight turns or, you use a fixed hitch and a rotating turret type pin box to make clearance.
