Recommended 4-Way Wiring Harness for 2021 Volkswagen ID 4

Question:
The Tekonsha web site shows no trailer wiring kit available for the 2021 ID.4 Electric Vehicle EV. Have you folks actually tested this with an ID.4? I have the Pro base model. My life savings are in that car and I wouldnt want to install anything that could damage all those fancy computers it has.

For your 2021 Volkswagen ID 4 I recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. The reason you did not see a wiring harness on the Tekonsha site is because there is no custom fit wiring harness available for your vehicle. This means you need a universal wiring harness.
The # 119250KIT is a great universal choice for an EV, especially if you are worried about damaging sensitive electrical components. This wiring harness uses zero-contact interface sensors which clamp on to identify the current flowing through the wire. This means that no cutting or splicing is required, so there is no risk of damage. Once installed, you will have a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights.
Although we have not had the chance to perform an installation on an ID 4 yet, I attached an installation video to show you what the process is like.
