The Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR is a similar 6 gallon version of the Atwood GC6AA-9E with the following dimensions:

DMC74FR: 12-3/4" T x 12-3/4" W x 19-7/8" D.

GC6AA-9E: 12-1/2" T x 16" W x 18" D.

If you have the space to accommodate the larger size then this water heater is going to give you a similar performance to what you already have.

If you would like a superior performing water heater then I recommend replacing it with the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater 60,000 BTU # FR98SR. It has similar dimensions at 12-5/8L x 12-13/16W x 19-3/16D so you'll need to make slight alterations to your cutout hole to fill in the gap but the performance output of this unit will be worth the work. The on-demand hot water and ability to set the temperature to a specific degree instead of the old fashioned arrow knob will make camping much more enjoyable.

The # FR98SR has the following requirements to properly operate:

12VDC Power Input.

7.2-65PSI water Pressure (40-50PSI recommended). I recommend using a water pressure regulator like # CAM40064 to ensure proper water pressure.

11" WC - 14" WC (13" WC recommended). I recommend having a licensed technician check your pressure and adjust your regulator accordingly to ensure proper gas pressure.
