While there are no base plates for a 2021 Toyota RAV4, there are base plates as well as the rest of the parts for a 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD. The base plates are from Blue Ox, but they do allow you to use the Nighthawk tow bar, as there is a version of this made specifically for Blue Ox base plates. I'll go ahead and list out all the parts you need for your '15 Tacoma:
- Base Plate Kit: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3763
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # RM-677
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
The Blue Ox base plates are a fit for your '15 Tacoma, which I verified with the manufacturer, and have a nice design that won't protrude out, along with removable arms, to help your Tacoma keep a clean appearance. The Nighthawk tow bar is simply the best available so you made a superb choice there; it is simple to use, has long arms which makes it easier for your Tacoma to track behind your motorhome, and comes with both safety cables and wiring connectors so you don't have to purchase those separately.
The diode wiring kit is nice because it is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback, keeping your Tacoma's electrical system safe. And as for the braking system, the Stay-IN-Play DUO is by far the best option because it gives you braking proportional to that of your motorhome; so when you hit the brakes, your Tacoma is going to get the same amount of braking power. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power, giving you a more comfortable and easier-to-control ride when flat towing.
