Question:

I need a replacement water heater, I have a g6a-8e. Now is this model a electric/gas unit? Im not sure on that. If so, can you replace it with a gas only unit? If so what would be a suitable replacement water heater? Hope that makes since to yall. Thanks

The Dometic RV Water Heater - Gas and Electric - Automatic Pilot - 120 Volt - 10,000 Btu - 6 Gal Tank # DMC74FR uses electric and propane. It is an automatic direct-spark gas pilot water heater with internal electric heating elements to get hot water ready fast.

This will be the replacement for the G6A-8E. We do not have a propane only water heater.

I do recommend since you are needing a new water heater, to consider tankless. The Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 41,800 Btu - White # LSB64FR will give you hot water on demand continuously. There is no need for you to waste propane heating up 6 gallons of water then having to keep it heated. This unit will get you about 90 gallons of hot water per hour and only uses gas/electric when turned on.

It also has a safety feature that will keep your water lines warm and safe from freezing.
