Question:

The size seems to be an exact replacement, but how do you utilize the lanyard? With the ball already attached to the lanyard how to actually attach to the hitch. The originally equipment comes with an oversized washer of sorts that the lanyard is attached to with the ball keeping it attached to the washer and hence you cannot lose the pin. Any suggestions?

The Buyers Products 1/4" Zinc Plated Safety Pin w/ Lanyard # 3373004987 is designed to fit something like their 30 Ton Heavy-Duty Swivel Type Pintle Hook # 337BP760A. This has a split tab that is specifically for this application (I included a picture showing what I mean). It would be bent a little to open up the gap where it is split, and then bent back into place to close the gap and keep the lanyard secure.

As your pintle hook has a different style of connection for the lanyard, the # 3373004987 may not be the best option. The Buyers Products 1/4" Safety Pin with 8" Chain # 337P11C, on the other hand, may be. This can easily be secured with a small bolt, washer, and nut and as long as they do not interfere with your pintle hook's operation, will be the better option.
