Question:
I am wanting to shore up the rear suspension on my 2022 Ram 2500 and am going back and forth between the Timbren TDRTT3500E and the SumoSprings SS27GR. The Timbren is obviously higher capacity, but is one better than the other?

Determining if the Timbren # TDRTT3500E or the SumoSprings # SS27GR is better for your needs will depend on your application. With the Timbren option having 8,000 pounds of load leveling capacity, they will of course be the more heavy duty option. They will definitely help with sag and body roll, but this is intended as a Severe Service kit. What I mean by that is it should be used with a slide-in camper, salt spreader, or something heavy in or on the bed of your truck. With these being rated as high as they are, they will impact your unloaded ride significantly, so if you will be doing something along these lines, I can highly recommend them. However, if you will not be doing something like this, going the SumoSprings route will be the better option.
The SumoSprings are still rated up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling capacity, so they are no slouch. They do have a much less solid microcellular urethane construction though, so with light loads, it will be much less harsh. With heavy loads, they can compress up to 80 percent which will give you a lot of support. If you were looking for a good option for occasional towing and not towing huge loads or using an in-bed camper, the SumoSprings # SS27GR will be the way to go.
