Question:
I will be pulling a Flagstaff E-Pro 20FBS with a 400lb tongue weight, a UVW of 3,442 lb, 958 lb CCC, which means it could be in the neighborhood of 4,400 lb total...but it wont because I am just 1 person...I anticipate the total to be 4,000 lb - 4,200 lb. My 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk has the tow package and the larger V-6 engine. Owners manual says it has a 450lb hitch weight, and a 4,500 lb tow capacity. What would be the best weight distribution system for this? If it matters, I only have 1 arm, so if there are different thigs you have to physically do for different systems when you connect and disconnect, keep that in mind. What I mean is if you need to do 2 things at once 2-handed operation. The RV dealers I have talked to all seem to only have 2 or 3 weight distribution systems they sell like a good-better-best with one model of each and could be different brands and all are way over my needs in weights. Did I read somewhere on here to say close to your needs? how much over my 450 lb hitch weight and 4,400 lb max weight would the rated limit of a weight distribution system have to be before it adversely affected the handling of my rig?

The closer you are to the weight of the trailer, the better the system will preform but it's better to be over than under. Most systems are going to be more geared towards heavier trailers but there are still some great options for smaller trailers like the Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro 20FBS. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37060ET which is one of the best options on the market with built-in sway control. It's a complete kit with the hitch ball included. If you're looking for a slightly more cost effective option, the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System part # RP66558 would be a solid choice. It would require the 2" Hitch Ball part # 63845 to be complete. The 600 lb rating will be perfect for this trailer.
The tongue jack can be used to take some of the lifting out of the equation.
