Question:
Hey yall! I just wanted to confirm which parts I need to order to add trailer towing with brakes capability to my 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 van. It currently has a 4 pin, so I would need to purchase this kit as well as a brake controller, correct? What brake controllers will work for this set up? And are there any other missing pieces that I havent mentioned? Thanks so much!

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500, you will need to purchase the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 as well as a brake controller.
I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR with the wiring adapter # 331-TPH-017. This brake controller will work with trailers up to 3 axles, and is designed to work with electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes.
Additionally when # RED44FR is installed it keeps a much lower profile than your standard brake controller, having just the knob exposed, which may save you from running your knee into it or bumping it.
