Question:
Hi, I’m hoping you can help. I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without the Tow Package and I would like to install a 7 Pin wiring harness along with an electronic brake controller for my Clipper 12.0 Camper Trailer. The wiring harness must also be able to trickle charge the trailer on board battery. I’ve got my head spinning with all the options having seen wireless to wired controllers… any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

To install a brake controller and 7-way on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited first requires you to have a 4-way installed on it like the # C56407. From there you need to convert it to a 7-way and install the brake controller. To do this the # ETBC7L is the kit to use to if you plan to install the wireless Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. With this setup you'd have a brake controller that's easy to install and can trickle charge your battery.
To do a more traditional brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR you'd instead need the kit part # ETBC7 (slightly different part number) which again comes with everything needed to wire in the controller and adapt to a 7-way. This will be a more in-depth install and will require mounting a brake controller on your dashboard.
I like both of these brake controllers because they have inertia sensors to detect how hard you apply the vehicle brakes and because they are very reliable.
