Troubleshooting Slow Retracting Solera Power Awning

Question:
The awning seems to work great however it retracts EXTREMELY slow. About 25 of the time it stops totally and I have to take it out and back in a few times to get it to roll all the way up. Everything looks lined up properly and appears to be working smoothly. The awning always extends at a normal speed, the problem is only when retracting. Could the motor possibly be bad or is there a higher grade motor or other part I can put in this so the awning retracts normally? Thank you for any help you might offer. Take care,

The awning roller that is installed on the Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434724 that you referenced could be wound not tight enough and the motor doesn't have enough spring assist. Or it's possible the battery of your RV is weak. Typically 14 winds is adequate to get the correct amount of tension.

If the spring is over wound it would role up faster and this awning doesn't have a spring mister expert.
