Question:
What gauge are the wires on subject magnet? Also, picture does not show protective covering for wires where it passes through back plate. Is this a concern?

Expert Reply:
The Replacement Trailer Brake Magnet # BP01-180 has 16 gauge wires.
Not all magnets will require the protective coverings as the brake assembly backing plate will have a Bushing similar to the # SWC8052-1 that protects the wiring from chaffing on the steel when it travels through the plate.
