Question:
Both recliner cup controls are lit, and only thing not working on 1 chair is close. We hear a click when close is pressed but nothing happens. How do we know if controller is bad?

It sounds like the issue may be in the control box. There is a way to troubleshoot the control box and that is by switching the control boxes from each recliner to the other. If the recliner that does not close now, closes with the opposite control box and vice versa, you will need to replace that control box.
You will need the Replacement Control Box for Thomas Payne Momentum Recliners and Sofas - Qty 1
# 195-387596 to correct the problem.
