Your 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 HD will have a wiring harness with round connector in place under the rear bumper whether or not it came equipped with a factory tow package. This round connector will plug in to the back of your Pollak Twist-In 7-Way, part # PK11916.
Please refer to the attached photo and the linked article concerning brake controller installation in a 2008 GMC Sierra. Both illustrate the underside of the vehicle rear bumper area and the approximate location (above the spare tire) and appearance of the harness and round connector. Please note that there may be a dust cover on the connector to protect it from road dirt and corrosion and the harness may be zip-tied to other wiring or to the driver-side frame rail.
If you need a replacement pigtail harness, you can use Pollak # PK11998 to hard wire a new 7-way socket for your trailer connector.
We recommend an application of dielectric grease, such as Lubri-Matic # 11755, to all connectors to inhibit the entry of dirt and moisture and to prevent corrosion.
