Question:
I see that this underail kit DM8551004 will fit an 01 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with 8ft bed but will this kit along with the Demco autoslide 18k 6077 work for my vehicle?

Expert Reply:
Your 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 with an 8 foot bed will be able to utilize the Demco underbed base rails along with the Autoslide hitch; the part number for the base rails is the following:
- Underbed Rail and Installation Kit # DM8551004
This will work with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Underbed # DM8550022.
That part is the combination of the Replacement Head and Base Assembly for Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # DM6077 and the Replacement Side Plates for Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Underbed Mount # DM6004.
So if you already have the # DM6077 head and base, you would be able to use it with the underbed rails in your Chevy by adding the Underbed Mount # DM6004.
The only other thing you might need if you don't have one is a 5th wheel wiring harness for your '01 Silverado 3500, which is the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # DM8555002.
