I have a customer that has a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 truck without OEM Prep and wants to pull a fifth wheel that weight 11k GVW. Can an andersen hitch work on this or would a slider hitch make more sense? What rail kit will I need to install?

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. An Andersen hitch can indeed be used on a 2022 Ram 2500 without the OEM prep package. You will need to install a rail kit in order to use a 5th wheel hitch, and for a rail kit I recommend the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # BWRVK2602. This is a full install kit, so you get brackets, hardware and rails.
It is recommended to use a slider on trucks with a short bed. For long bed trucks a fixed hitch will do fine. If this Ram 2500 is a short bed, I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3270. The slider moved the pivot point back 12" which helps gain clearance on sharp turns.
