Recommended 4-Way Wiring Harness for 2006 Jeep Liberty

I have a small, 5 x 8 utility trailer that doesn’t have a breaking system. Which wiring harness do I need for 2006 Jeep Liberty?

To power the lights on your trailer you will need to add a 4-way connection to your 2006 Jeep Liberty. Assuming you do not have the factory tow package, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118524. This plugs directly into existing wiring and includes a ModuLite converter which will help protect your electrical system.

If you do have the factory tow package, you need the Tekonsha # 118381 instead. This will plug directly into your factory wiring harness for a quick and easy installation.

Since you took a look at the Curt wiring harness I will touch on that briefly. We have found Tekonsha to be more reliable with this type of wiring harness. That is the reason why I recommend the Tekonsha over the Curt.

I have attached some installation videos for your reference. The video of the 06 Liberty is the installation process if you don't have the factory tow package and are installing the # 118524. The one with the 01 Dodge Ram Van is the installation process if you do have the factory tow package, which would be the same for your Jeep.
