Will The Curt C17507 Replace The Head On An Older 17342 Weight Distribution System

Question:
Hi. It appears Curt 17507 will replace 17342 well. Correct? I still have the 1000lb bars, 10k Convert a Ball cushioned 10k shank, and 15k Curt 2 5/16 ball. The head tilt spacers and adjustment holes in the head of our 17342 [2017 yr model] have worn to oblong shapes and thus loose. See attached pics. Not sure why as our loaded horse trailer is about 7k total weight. Suggestions? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
As the Curt C17342 weight distribution system was discontinued at the end of 2016, there will be no more direct replacement parts available for it, unfortunately. However, The bars that fit the Curt replacement head # C17507 will be a 1-5/16" square, so as long as your bars match this, it shouldn't be a problem.
The head tilt spacers do wear out over time, so it is completely normal. To get those replaced, the Replacement Hardware Kit for Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - 5K to 10K # C17550 will include these spacers as well as all the hardware needed for the head.
