Is a New Wheel Needed for 80 PSI 225/75-15 Load Range E Tires
Published 09/24/2021 >
Question:
I need to replace my tires after a blowout. I was looking at the Kendas but one of your posts says the max tire pressure is 80psi. After the blowout I noticed that 60 psi max is stamped on the wheel. Not sure how to proceed. Thanks

The psi rating of a wheel comes from the valve stem, not the actual wheel itself as metal would obviously be able to handle a higher psi than rubber. If your current setup is limiting the psi of the tire then you can easily fix this with a new valve stem, the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem part # AM20906 which is rated over 100 psi.
