Question:

I am looking to replace the leaf springs on my 2000 Karavan single axel boat trailer. Axel is a 1.5 inch square 1000 pound. Part number SP-177275 has all of the same measurements as my 2 leaves radius end leaf springs measured on the trailer with the exception of the F measurement. My springs measure in at approximately 4.75 inches while this part says 3.5. attached photo shows the measurement. Red line just below the trailer frame is a piece of line that I tied between the two leaf spring hanger bolts. Is this the right replacement leaf spring for my trailer?

The 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 1,000-lb Trailer Axles # SP-177275 are going to be the closest to what you have. Depending on the exact location your red string in relation to the end of the radius spring this may account for some of the difference in the measurements. You do appear to have plenty of clearance in your fenders if the springs are not as tall.

Be sure to not reuse your current U-bolts as they appear to be for a 2" axle. The CE Smith U-Bolt Kit # CE23102 is specific to the 1-1/2" square axle that you have.
