can this vent be mounted horizontally in my cargo trailer?

You should not have a problem mounting the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - 6-1/4" Diameter - Smoke, part # VP-543SP, horizontally in your cargo trailer. You will have to make sure it is wired for a fan, if your cargo trailer is not already. Once that is done, this should not be a problem at all.
