Question:
Im thinking about buying the BCDC 25amp charging system. Im wanting to use solar when the sun is out instead of using the alternator to charge the aux batteries as I go with my travel trailer. I was wondering how solar connects to the relay and back to the BCDC charger. After looking at the diagram 2 in the installation guide, it does not show the yellow wire coming out of the BCDC charger for solar. The relay has an orange wire that is supposed to go directly to the positive of the solar panel. How does this connect back to the BCDC chargers yellow cable or does it? Also, is the relay required for the BCDC to automatically switch charging between the solar and alternator?

If you are looking to connect the 60-Amp Relay Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-RK1260 to your BCDC 25 amp charging system like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC # 331-BCDC1225D, you no longer need the relay kit. The BCDC charger has a direct solar input.
I went ahead and attached the wiring diagram from the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger to give you perspective about how to wire the BCDC charger to your solar panel. The yellow wire directly connects to the solar panel.
