Question:
i have some questions on the use of the Replacement Step, Motor, and Control for Kwikee RV Electric Steps - 28 Series - 23-5/8inch Wide, LC3747452. I am wondering if this step will still work with the engine on as this is an ambulance and it will be mostly used when the engine is on, I assume it will work, I just want to make sure. I am also wondering what kind of wiring we will need to provide power to the motor, as there was a manual one there before. Any information would be useful. Thank you for your time

I have a solution for you, but since you don't already have a step installed you'll need to use the Kwikee Electric RV Step Complete Assembly - Single - 28 Series - 23-5/8" Wide # LC3747453 instead of the # LC3747452 since it has all of the components needed for a new installation, where the # LC3747452 is designed to work as a replacement with existing components.
With that said, you can use the Kwikee Electric RV Step Complete Assembly - Single - 28 Series - 23-5/8" Wide # LC3747453 with the engine running without any issues as it will draw power directly from the battery. If this vehicle has an auxiliary battery you'd likely want to use that as the power source over the main battery; if there's only the main vehicle battery you can wire directly to that.
You also may need the switch kit # LC369311 to control the steps since these are designed to extend and retract with the door sensors, and adding the switch gives you another layer of control for the steps.
I've linked a short review video of this step for you to check out.
