Does Older Version of Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Have Ability to Add Strap
Updated 09/01/2021 | Published 08/31/2021 >
Question:
I purchased a the Curt echo brake controller exactly 2 years ago. I have used about 5 times. I have constantly struggled with keeping the connection and have always been concerned about it falling out. I noticed in a recent search that it is supposed to come with a strap for just this reason. Mine did not have one so perhaps at that time they didnt. Will the available strap now work on my unit? Additionally I have changed my tow vehicle and the 7 pin angles down at 45degree making me even more concerned. The image on your website appears to show there may be subtle differences now that mine does not have to accommodate the strap.

Expert Reply:
The older versions of the Echo did not have the required bracket to install a strap. If you went with a newer version of the # C51180 you'd have improved connectivity as that was one of the other things they improved around time they added the strap.
