Installing Weight Distribution System on Trailer with Crossmember Where Hangers Locate
Updated 08/30/2021 | Published 08/29/2021 >
Question:
I am trying to install this system and the farthest I can put the brackets for the trunion bars from the ball is 25 to 26” because my trailer jack is welded in place in the spot I would need to put it to be 31” from the ball. The system says you must have a minimum of 4” of bar past the hanger so is having more bar past the hangar a problem?

Expert Reply:
Since your trailer has a crossmember that prevents the Curt TruTrack weight distribution # C17500 from having it's bar hangers installed in the correct location you are going to have to drill holes and mount the bar brackets to the sides of the trailer frame or have them welded in place.
