Since you'll have the engine off there will be no power running to your electronic odometer and thus will not be able to track miles traveled.

If you don't already have all of the equipment to flat tow your vehicle I have the following recommendations for you:

Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. Tow Bar Wiring: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your Chrysler PT Cruiser's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

Actuator unit applies towed car's brakes after receiving signal via internal inertia sensor. Braking power settings let you adjust brake intensity based on your towed car's weight. Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. The coiled design will prevent the cables from dragging in the ground and being damaged.
