Question:

How thick is the ratcheting hook? My Trek Domane has 1 1/4:inch clearance between the front tire and the frame, will the ratcheting hook rub the frame?

The Thule Insta-Gater Pro Truck Bed Bike Rack - 1 Bike # TH93VR uses a ratcheting hook that is approximately 1-1/16" thick. If you do not have enough room for the hook to clear the front tire, you can actually use the hook on your rear tire instead. I did some research on the Trek Domane and it looks like the rear tire mount would work very well, so you can use that method if the front method does not end up working.

There is a built-in cable lock to keep your bike secured to the carrier. I attached a demonstration video which shows both ways to use this bike rack.
