For your 2019 Ford Ranger you will need a trailer hitch receiver, a 4-way connector, and then a 4-way to 5-way adapter as a 5-way connector is the most common connector used on a boat trailer.

Since you mentioned wanting a etrailer Trailer Hitch you will need the # e63ZR which has a 900 lb tongue weight rating and 6000 lb trailer weight rating making it a perfect option for towing your boat. You will however need to confirm the towing capacity of your truck by checking its owner's manual and use the lower rating between the hitch and vehicle.

For a 4-way connector you will need the # 118654 which is confirmed to fit your vehicle and plugs directly into the connectors on your vehicle. To change this to a 5-way connector you will need to use the Curt # C57187 which will plug into the 4-way connector and just require you to splice the blue wire into the reverse light wire on your vehicle. A circuit tester # PTW2993 will help you find the correct wire.
