Can Two Thule Hullavator Kayak Carriers Fit Onto 2020 Chevy Equinox?

Thule does not recommend adding two of the Hullavators # TH898 to any crossbar setup; this is due to issues with weight capacity and crossbar space. Each Hullavator weighs about 40lbs and then you have the weight of your kayaks. This means you will need a roof rack AND a vehicle roof with a weight capacity of around 160-200lbs on average. In regard to crossbar space, each Hullavator takes up about 28-1/2" and requires 4" of the crossbar to overhang the roof on each side, meaning you need a crossbar that is at least 57" long assuming this will allow 4" of overhang on each side of your roof (you will want to measure to verify). It looks like you have enough weight capacity but you would need longer crossbars such as Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Black - 60" # TH711520 then you could use two Hullavators. Keep in mind, in order to use these 60" crossbars you will need to measure from one edge of your roof to the next edge of your roof (where the leg mounts will attach); if this is between 46-1/2" - 59-3/4" then the 60" bars will fit. Otherwise you may be able to go with a longer Yakima setup which allows for shorter distance.

Since you already have 53" crossbars, I think a better option would be to use Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs # MPG114MD-351XL along with Malone DownLoader # MPG114MD for your second kayak. This is similar to the Thule Hullavator in the sense that it assists the kayak onto the roof. This option is much more affordable, lighter in weight, and also does not require as much crossbar space.
