Can 12V Feed for Tekonsha 118746 Trailer Wiring Harness Be Connected Somewhere Else Than the Battery

Question:
Can i run the power wire to the 15amp fuse in the fuse panel marked trailer lights. It gives constant power, and it 15 amps. That way I can run the wire inside the car.

We recommend running the wire to the positive battery terminal as recommended in the instructions, and here's why... Attaching directly to the battery provides an uninterrupted and reliable power source that will also help isolate the electrical system of the vehicle from any short circuits that could occur in the trailer wiring.
Installing the harness in the way you mention could leave the vehicle's electrical system exposed to damage and would also void any warranty protection on the wiring harness.
Running the 12-v circuit to the battery isn't very difficult. I'll link you to an install video as well as a help article that will run you through the process.
