Question:
I have a Yakima Dr. Tray that originally was hooked up to a 1.25 receiver. However I have a 2 inch receiver and I have tried different adapters that do not fit the knob that is included with the hitch. It fits into the Reese receiver however the Reese receiver is too long and there is a big gap between the back of the vehicle and the hitch where bikes are attached When I go over a bump it hits the road or a ramp. I look forward to your assistance.

I recommend having a 2" to 1-1/4" hitch riser built for your Yakima Dr. Tray Bike Rack. Having a custom built riser will allow you to move the rack up for better ground clearance and keep it as close the the rear of your vehicle as possible.
The Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar # D31 can be welded to the 6" Combo Bar 1-1/4" Receiver # E-911 with some steel plate or tubing. A local welding shop should be able to provide the additional material necessary to get the receiver tube where you need it on the hitch bar.
Be sure to leave room for a etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 on the 2" hitch bar so that you can remove the rattle with the solid shank.
