Hitch Adapter for Thule Hitching Post

Question:
Can you confirm how this shank can be adapted to work with the 2in hitch receiver? There is only one threaded hole in the shank, and I dont see any way to use the adapter and or lock it? Thule manual seems to suggest directly screwing it in only?

If I am understanding your issue correctly, you need the Replacement 2" Hitch Adapter for Thule Doubletrack, Hitching Post Pro, # 853-7489. And yes, you slide this on to the shank and screw it into place to hold it. That piece is what upsizes it to a 2". Check out the short 2 min. product review and installation video I have linked as it provides a complete walk through of what to do. You then secure with a hitch pin as usual.
