Does Heat Shield Need To Be Trimmed To Install Curt Trailer Hitch C23FR On 2021 Lincoln Corsair?

Question:

2021 Lincoln Corsair Do you know from experience that the Curt C23FR hitch will fit a 2021 Lincoln Corsair without cutting the heat shield? After studying the photos and instructions, it seems doubtful. There appears to be less space on the Corsair than on the Ford Escape. See attached photo.

We have not had a chance to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C23FR you were looking at on a 2021 Lincoln Corsair yet, so I cannot say from personal experience that you will not have to trim the heat shield.

However I reached out to Curt who has installed this hitch and they mentioned it was designed to fit your 2021 Lincoln Corsair without any trimming or modifying to the heat shield so you will not have an issue.

If you are planning on towing with your Corsair you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 119250KIT, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
