Question:

I need to replace wheel bearing on my boat trailer, can I get the proper replacements by using the trailer VIN number or do I need to remove the bearings? I bought the trailer brand new and the VIN is: EZ Loader: VIN:1L8RABNG02A063696

Though we do not have a way to look up the VIN on a trailer, you can contact the manufacturer of the trailer and they should be able to tell you exactly which inner and outer bearings you have.

If for some reason they can't, you will need to pull off one of the hubs. Once it is off, you will need to measure the inner diameters of both your inner and outer bearing. This should be done with calipers, like the # PTW80157, as it does need to be as precise as possible. There can also be numbers on the bearings themselves, but these can wear off over time.
