Replacement Surge Brake Actuator for Atwood 82543

Question:

Since atwood is out of business and no one has that coupler or even parts for it, what is the replacement so I dont have to reconfigure the brake line?

The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR is the best replacement for your Atwood 82543.

As this surge brake actuator does not have a reverse lockout you will need either free backing brake assemblies or a Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators # T4748800.

I recommend the electric lockout option. It will require you to use a 5-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM37918 and a 4-Pole to 5-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 47515. If your tow vehicle already has a 5-way you will not need the adapter. If you have a 7-way you can substitute the adapter for a Adapter 7 Pole to 5 Pole Flat # A75TB.

You may need to slightly alter your brake line with the electric reverse actuator installed.
