Can 4-Way Trailer Wiring for 2012 Nissan Frontier be Upgraded to 7-Way

My frontier doesn't have the tow package installed. If I bought a Curt C56225 way wiring kit with the relays, could I later install a 7 way plug without upgrading the relays? Are the relays different between the 4 way and 7 way?
