Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a brief look at these angled hog ring pliers. Now, these Performance Tool angled hog ring pliers are useful for many applications like upholstery, fencing, craft, rope, bungee cords, bag closures, furniture, and much more. They are spring loaded, as you can see here, to aid in holding the hog ring. So I took out one of the included hog rings, you are gonna get 20 hog rings by the way, and as you can see, that spring loaded action is going to hold that ring into place, so you can easily then close that ring over whatever you're gonna be using this for. And the head is angled for easy access, and the head is especially designed for the hog ring to roll closed. And then the red cushion grips are gonna provide a comfortable grip, and I think those red cushions are going to allow you to have not only a comfortable grip, but a sure grip when you're using these.
These pliers are of a heavy-duty steel construction, and the overall length of these pliers, we're sitting right at about seven inches long, and the ring gauge compatibility is gonna be 16 gauge to 9 gauge, and like I said, you will get 20 hog rings and they have a diameter of 3/4 of an inch. I had to replace 8 rollers on my boat trailer,the rollers came on time like etrailer said they would and the ones I purchased fits my easy loader trailer perfectly.I pulled one hog ring off,and yes it snapped in half so I got ahold of etrailer again and got the heavy-duty hog rings got them today on time and they worked perfectly,I ordered the hog ring pliers forget buying them they will not work with the heavy rings.I used a vise to bend the rings close to a snug fit the placed them in the holes and used a set of channel locks to finish the job works perfectly, hope this helps other people out. Thank you etrailer associates for your help,will keep you in mind for future orders!

Bought new rollers for my boat trailer. They were just what I needed. They are working out very well. The hog ring pliers I purchased to install rollers are a joke. I had to use heavy duty pliers to install the rollers and never used the pliers that I was told would do the job. Complete waste of money

Too small to be used for the installation of the Wobbly roller Retainer ring.

These pliers were totally inadequate for the retainer rings that came with the rollers. I used my large channel locks to secure the rings.

- Are Special Tools Needed to Attach Wobbler Rollers to a Shaft Using Retaining RingsI have tried to use channel locks before and they do not work all that well. You need what are called hog ring pliers such as # PTW88003. These pliers also come with fasteners but for boat trailer rollers you would want to use a retainer ring such as # CE10981 as an example.

The diameter of this retainer ring is 3/16 inch. This is a fairly standard size and that is why we don't carry others.
