Right Brake Light Pin On New 7-Way Trailer Connector Not Working on 2003 Chevy Silverado

Question:
I just spliced in new vehicle wiring on my 2003 Silverado 2500HD purchased from you. The old one was very corroded. I also installed a new 7 pole and 4 pole connector at the end. The install went fine. When I tested the connections at the 4 and 7pole connector the right brake light did not work. All other of the lights worked including the left brake light and the right turn signal. Both truck brake lights work. Does the right turn signal and the right brake light share the same wire? I was not able to check the old connector since it was so corroded so I am not sure if the problem is with the truck. I also hooked up some trailer lights to see if it made a difference and it did not. Any suggestion on where to start looking?

Since the original connector on your 2003 Chevy Silverado was so corroded it could have affected the wiring further back. Use your tester to test the wiring further forward on the truck to see if there is a point where the signal is good for both the turn signal and the brake light (they are on the same circuit). If there is then you will need to replace the wire for that circuit up to that point.
Make sure the new harness is properly grounded as well.
It is possible that there is a separate relay and/or fuse for just the right side brake light that you could find using the vehicle owners manual. You can check the stop light/CHMSL fuse but if the left side is working this is probably not the issue but worth checking anyway.
