Does It Matter Which Way the Dexter Trailer Axles Are Installed

Should the axle be installed with the trailer brake wires facing forward or backward, or does it matter?

The Dexter Trailer Axles like part # 20440I-ST-60 don't have specific sides like one for driver and one for passenger etc. The important thing is that the spring seats are facing up.
